A few words about
What We Do
WOMEN'S CORNER INITIATIVE
…committed to empowering women and girls via sexual and reproductive health education, campaign and services.
OUR PROGRAMMES & INITIATIVES
Antenatal care support especially for indigent women/ single mothers
This presents opportunities for reaching pregnant women with support that may be vital to their health and wellbeing and that of their infants. In our quest to reach out to women, we have met a couple of pregnant women who because of fund did not register for antenatal care. This experience made us to set aside funds to support indigent women and single mothers how may need support for their antenatal care.
SRH for girls initiative
Here we are deliberate as young girls face a lot of obstacles accessing sexual and reproductive health services, due to our sociocultural and religious beliefs, fear of being stigmatized for being sexually active, unavailability of quality services among others. Through this initiative, we have been able to reach out to young girls in schools and make available all the needed sexual and reproductive health education and services. With this initiative, young girls are giving a platform to express themselves and are empowered to make the right sexual and reproductive health decisions and keep down the risky lifestyles.
SingleMom network
Some of the perceived reasons for the rise in the number of never married single mother identified include family background, sexual abuse, age usually under age, non-use of contraceptives, and so on. In most our communities, single mothers are seen as outcast. They are made to drop out of school even by their own parents, force int early marriage etc. Our SingleMom network is a home away from home for single mothers where they are taken of rejection, rehabilitated to face their future through our SRH education and services.
